Tatyana Stahler (she/her) Owner/Instructor
Tatyana Stahler is the owner/founder of Focal Point: Pilates & Movement Studio. She has been teaching Pilates for almost a decade in the Bellingham community, mostly at WWU. Pilates has been her way of cross-training, healing, and connecting to her body through her many years as a dancer. Tatyana believes movement classes should allow us to feel good in our bodies and more active in our daily lives. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her educational background at WWU, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Bachelor of Arts in Dance, and most recently a Master of Education focusing on Adult & Higher Education. Tatyana is a trained Pilates instructor through Balanced Body in mat, reformer, and many of the apparatuses, as well as a certified TRX instructor. Through all of her training, educational experiences, and love of accessible movement, Tatyana brings inclusive movement instruction to Focal Point and the Bellingham community.
When Tatyana is not leading Pilates classes, she loves spending time with her husband Lewis and their two energetic puppies, Hero and Raya. She is also a member of Bellingham Repertory Dance, a local arts non-profit. Tatyana has lived in Bellingham since 2010 and enjoys the beautiful scenery, welcoming community, and delicious coffee that the community provides.

Christine Engelfried (she/her) Instructor
Christine Engelfried began her love of dance at the age of 3. Graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a double major in dance and communication studies, her love of movement continues to inform her life through teaching, performing and processing life and the human experience. Christine enjoys creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for all participants; holding space for people to connect to their body, breath and mind and cultivate an inner sense of play, where they can dance, sweat & LIVE. She is a graduate of the summer dance program at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, a certified GROOV3 instructor, and is a founding guide for KINRGY, a wellness platform created by Emmy® award winning dancer and artist Julianne Hough. She has had the honor of working as a dance educator and yoga instructor for various companies including KINRGY, Ompractice, Equinox, YogaWorks and GROOV3 and led movement experiences for Oprah's 20/20 Vision Tour, Global Citizen, Tony Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow's goop, and Dannon's Light and Fit series.
Christine initially found yoga in her undergraduate dance studies. It was in her professional teaching and performing that she found yoga as a place to practice mindfulness & injury prevention. In this journey she experienced firsthand not only the immense physical benefits of yoga but more profoundly how yoga created space for her to be present and connect to a deeper sense of self.
Christine is a certified yoga teacher at the 500-hour level with YogaWorks, a certified Restorative Yoga Teacher, a Reiki Master, and an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist completing clinical hours with UCLA patients in five modalities of treatment: yoga therapy (restorative poses, breath awareness, in-bed movement, and guided meditation), Reiki, essential oil therapy, nutrition and contemplative care. She has also completed trainings and received continuing education in therapeutics, iRest Yoga Nidra and is currently pursuing a certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness coaching.
Christine teaches Slow Flow Yoga and GROOV3.
Sydney Poulin (she/her) Instructor
I offer a comprehensive teaching approach that seeks to expand the practice of yoga beyond the four edges of the mat. In my classes, you can expect fluid, strength-building sequences that settle the mind and amplify the voice of your body. As we explore the limbs of yoga together, I will always encourage you to meet yourself with gentle reverence. Though I cannot provide the perfect antidote for suffering, I design my classes to better equip you to build resilience in discomfort, ground yourself in uncertainty, and find equilibrium in chaos. When I am not practicing yoga, you can find me skiing at Mount Baker, basking beside the river or creating block prints on my front porch.
Sydney teaches Dynamic Flow Yoga.

Jennifer Dyrland (she/her) Instructor
Jennifer has been a certified mat instructor since 2006 with Power Pilates, teaching locally with a classically based approach emphasizing stability, strength, and lightness. When introduced to Pilates at a local athletic club, it felt like she had found the missing element to her fitness program. Pilates provided a foundation and served as an anchor through chronic foot and ankle issues, allowing her to continue movement her body craved. Jennifer loves to teach open mat style classes and provide modification, progressions and options so all can have an excellent workout. Always working toward continuing her Pilates education, she loves incorporating new exercises into her classes and learning from her students.
Growing up in Seattle, Jennifer moved to Bellingham to attend WWU, earning a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology. Jennifer has a self-declared baking problem, enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, and catching up with friends, whether on a scenic walk or over a glass of wine. She loves to travel with her husband Erik, especially to visit her two adult children. Living in the Broadway Park neighborhood provides a wonderful walkable area, and she feels grateful to contribute to small businesses, volunteer with local organizations, and give back to this amazing community.
Jennifer’s goal is for clients to leave feeling stronger, rejuvenated, and joyful and carry that energy out into our community.

Felicia Dougherty (she/her) Instructor
Hi! My name is Felicia, pronouns she/her; I am a thinker, seeker, and creative who feels privileged to live, learn, and adventure in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on Coast Salish ancestral land. I received my 200-hour yoga certification in 2021, and I am currently in grad school studying mental health counseling. I aim to help others feel good in their bodies by creating a space where students can tune in to their unique intuition about their body with curiosity, empathy, and self-compassion. The intersection of embodied movement and somatic psychology inspires my class design, sequenced with accessibility in mind through a trauma-aware lens. As a result, my classes are breath-focused, grounding, playful, and powerful, with ample room to move how you need.
